This class is part of the A2 (Advanced Beginners) level, per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) standards. Before enrolling, you are expected to have completed the entire A1 (Beginners) level. Throughout the A2 level, which consists of various terms, you will be able to do the following:

  • Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment at the Met).

  • Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters, such as how to get to an exhibit.

  • Describe in simple terms aspects of your background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
