ASL at the Lincoln Center

ASL classes are offered both in person and online with a live instructor and run for 10 weeks per semester. Fully funded by Lincoln Center :)

You can swap between in-person and online classes as needed.

  • ASL Beginners 1 (Virtual)

ASL is distinct and independent from spoken English, and it is not universal. Different countries have their own unique sign languages, such as British Sign Language (BSL), which is mutually unintelligible with ASL.

This is a Complete Beginners class. No previous studies are required.

Tuesdays, 5-6PM EST. October 6 - December 15. No class on November 24.

  • ASL Beginners 1 (In-Person)

ASL utilizes signing space to convey relationships, map out locations, and establish timelines; signers can place referents in space and refer back to them later in a conversation.

This is a Complete Beginners class. No previous studies are required.

Wednesdays, 11AM-12PM EST. October 7 - December 16. November 11 class will be moved to November 10 at your usual time. No class on November 25.

Private Lessons

Sometimes, language mastery requires a more personalized touch. Private classes are the way to go! You ensure that you learn at your own pace and in a way that makes sense.
