Italian at the Getty

You spoke, we listened: Italian is now part of the Getty language offerings, giving staff the chance to connect more directly with the language behind some of the museum’s most iconic artworks. All classes are online with a live instructor and run for 10 weeks. All funded by the Getty Museum :)

  • Beginners 1

    Italian is often called the language of art, music, and emotion, shaped by centuries of cultural influence from the Renaissance to today, and still closely tied to many of the works in the Getty’s Italian collections.

    A total of 10 online classes. This is a Complete Beginners class. No previous studies required.

    Wednesdays, 10-11 AM PST. June 24 – August 26.

Spanish Classes this Term

Continue learning Spanish at the Getty with our offerings for next semester. All classes are online with a live instructor, and run for 10 weeks per semester. All are funded by the Getty Museum :)

  • Beginners 5

    Spanish opens the door to deeper connections—with people, stories, and cultures that enrich both our work and our everyday lives.

    At least 40 hours of previous studies are required.

    Thursdays, 3-4 PST. June 25 - August 27.

  • Beginners 2

    Spanish is spoken by over 500 million people worldwide, making it a key language for travel, work, and connecting with diverse communities.

    This is NOT a Complete Beginners class. At least 20 hours of previous studies are required.

    Tuesdays, 1-2 PM PST. June 23 - August 25.

  • Intermediate 3

    Whether your goal is to connect with visitors, collaborate with staff, or explore Spain and Latin America, this class is your pathway to speaking Spanish.

    At least 140 hours of previous studies are required.

    Thursdays, 10-11 AM PST. June 25 - August 27.
